The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Beverley Lowe can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

JIM LOWE, PATRIOT

Thanks, Kim Chalkley, for your accurate description of the life of our good friend, Jim Lowe. At 6 foot 5, he was one of the tallest submarine captains in any Navy. He was also one of the most determined people ever, especially when fighting for the good of this great nation.

In 2001, at the 50th anniversary of the graduation of our NROTC class, we decided to make every effort to bring back the Navy unit to Columbia. Despite severe opposition from the University administration, we were successful, thanks largely to the efforts of Capt. Ted Grasske, USN, Ret. Now, the Navy flag one more flies proudly on Morningside Heights. So long for now, Jim, we'll soon meet again!
