Robert Ryan  Quinn
Robert Ryan Quinn, 84, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. He was born in Utica, NY on December 24, 1932; the son of Edward G. & Frances Ryan Quinn (deceased). He graduated from Utica, NY schools and received B.S. and Masters degrees from Utica College and post-Masters degree from Syracuse, Colgate, and Albany State Universities. He married Nedra Ruth Casey on Aug 27, 1955 at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church in Utica, NY. Robert was employed by the Utica school system as teacher, counselor, and administrator for 14 years. He was also a High School principal at Stillwater, NY for 19 years. Robert retired in 1988 and continued as a counselor at Saratoga Catholic for 6 years, and as the girls’ softball coach for 8 years without a losing season, twice named ‘coach of the year’. Robert and Nedra moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 1996, and proceeded to become members of St. Brendan’s R.C. church. Robert is predeceased by sister Mary Ellen St. John and husband Gene, brother Edward Quinn and his wife Peggy, brother-in-law William Casey. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his four beloved children: Christopher C. Stamford, CT, Daniel P. Atlanta, GA, Theresa A. Ross, Waldwick, NJ, and Carla M. Gundermann, Clifton Park, NY., as well as his grandchildren: Gregory, Brian, and Paige, his sister-in-law, Phyllis Casey, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation with the family will take place at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Boulevard, in Ormond Beach on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Brendan the Navigator R.C. Church, 1000 Oceanshore Blvd., Ormond Beach, beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017, with Fr. Tom Barrett, presiding. Memorial donations are requested to Saratoga Catholic Girl’s softball team, 247 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 or Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124 .
