Obituary for
Margaret M. Beavers
Margaret McCormack Beavers, 89, a resident of Daytona Beach, passed away Saturday September 9th at home surrounded by her loved ones. Margaret was born February 14, 1928 to Julia and Harry T. Johnson in Miami Beach. She moved to the Daytona Beach area in the 1940’s with her husband, William J. McCormack. She and Bill spent 53 wonderful years together until his passing in 1996. She remarried after Bill’s death, and spent 6 years with Richard C. Beavers, until his passing in 2006.
Margaret had been a member of both Daytona Baptist Church and Calvary Assembly of God. She loved gardening, being a homemaker, and reading and studying the Bible. She was a Godly woman whom everyone loved and affectionately referred to her as “momma”. She will surely be missed by all who loved her. For the past eight years, Margaret’s companion was her beloved Chihuahua, Tiny. She enjoyed teaching her many new tricks during their time together, and over the course of time the two were inseparable.
Margaret was predeceased by her husbands, Bill and Richard, her sons; William Gilbert (Addie) McCormack and James Patrick (Patricia) McCormack, her daughter Leona “Cricket” (Dennis) Wilson and her grandson Stacy McCormack.
Those left to cherish Margaret’s memory include her two sons John Christopher (Tina) and William James (Wanda) McCormack II, her daughters Marie (Tom) Squires and Shirley (George) Koelker, 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 11 great great- grandchildren and her brother, Charlie (Janet) Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held for Margaret on Saturday September 30th at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona at 12:30pm, with a gathering of family and friends starting at 11:00am.
