Laurence "Larry" Vienneau, DMD
Laurence “Larry” E. Vienneau, DMD, 89, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. A service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Friday, September 18th at 3:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm.
Larry was born on November 11, 1927 in Lynn, MA to the late Raymond and Alice (Froberger) Vienneau, and his late stepmother, Madeline Cotter. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary (Steeves) Vienneau of Ormond Beach, FL, his 7 children, Laurence Jr. (Suhtling) of Lake Mary, FL, Michael (Barbara Condon) of Nantucket, MA, Suzanne (Terry) of Ormond Beach FL, Carol of Plymouth MA, Mary Alyce (Phil Eberhardt) of East Quogue, NY, Joan Bunnell (Jim) of Kingston MA and Joseph (Lisa) of Austin TX. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Sarah Giragosian (Elise), Kelsey Tsinzo (Gregory), Jessie Brawner (Darian), Nellie and Georgina Morley, Hayley Bunnell, Morgan Brawner, Lawson and Sian Vienneau and Olivia, Michael and Emily Vienneau. He leaves his sister, Barbara Doyle of Wakefield MA and 5 nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond Vienneau Jr.
Dr. Vienneau graduated from St Mary’s High School in Lynn MA in 1945. He entered the Army Air Force and served in the Medical Corps. He was honorably discharged, and continued to serve in the Naval Reserve. He attended Boston College and graduated from Tufts University Dental School in 1954. He opened a dental practice in Marshfield, MA and continued practicing until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, painting, gardening, spending time with his family, and especially cheering on the Boston Red Sox. A devout Catholic, Larry was a church deacon and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. He was also an active member of his community, serving on the Duxbury School Committee, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and volunteering with Cranberry Hospice. Those who survive him will always remember his inherent kindness and empathy, his wonderful laugh, his humble nature, and his unwavering moral compass.
