Bill "Tabasco Bill" Mager
Mr. Bill “ Tabasco Bill “ Mager, 93, a resident of Samsula, Florida passed away on Friday, March 24th at his home after a long illness. Bill was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma in 1923 to Max and Lillian (Allen) Mager. After high school, Bill joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in both WWII and Korea earning many medals and commendations before retiring as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after a 23 year career. Bill was an easy man to get along with and was loved by all who knew him, both now and in the past. Tabasco Bill was a definitive member of the “Greatest Generation”, a man whose actions spoke volumes that mere words could never express. He will be missed dearly. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Betty who sadly passed last year. He is survived by his daughter Linda Shipes and son- in law George, two grandchildren Shannon (Jeremy) Verderosa and Robert Parrish, and his two great- grandchildren Jakob and Katilyn Verderosa. There will be a graveside service with military honors for Bill on Friday, March 31st at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach, Fl. beginning at 10am. A GOOD MAN – WE CELEBRATE HIS LIFE !
