Obituary for Pauline Margaret McSparrin

Pauline Margaret McSparrin (Polly), age 91, of Port Orange, FL, passed away on February 9, 2017. She is survived by Daughter, Melinda McSparrin (Lynn) Port Orange, FL; Daughter, Brenda McSparrin Gallagher (Chris) Memphis, TN; Grandchildren, Megan Peterson (Greg), Alaina McSparrin, Erin Gallagher, Kelly Gallagher, all from Memphis, TN., Alyssa McSparrin and Aiden McSparrin, Deland, FL and Great Grand Children Isabella Williams-Hidalgo and Slade McSparrin from Memphis, TN, along with other Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Bruce D. McSparrin; Son, Alan B. McSparrin and Grandson Bruce D. McSparrin.

She was born December 7, 1925, in Grady County, OK to William Elmer and Lena Pearl Hoyle. She moved to Port Orange, FL with her husband Bruce in 1987. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange. Polly was a champion for children, as she taught Sunday school for 15 years. In addition, she mentored elementary school aged children. She had a smile for every child she met. Polly loved her church and family very much. She was loving, compassionate, funny, and feisty and always right on all topics. She will be truly missed, not only by her family, but by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 305 Dunlawton, Port Orange, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family request making a donation to the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange or Halifax Humane Society.

Services have been entrusted with the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange.
