James E. "Ed" Brehm
James E. (Ed) Brehm, 84, passed away very peacefully at Halifax Health Hospice Center in Ormond Beach, Fl on September 15, 2016.
James was born in Springton, WV on October 27, 1931 to Edison and Marie Farley Brehm. He was predeceased by three brothers, Billie, Weldon and Martin and 3 sisters, Norma, Patricia and Sandra.
James resided in Mullens, WV for many years before moving to Holly Hill, Fl. He has resided in Holly Hill for 29 years.
James is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lancette; one sister, Faye Johnson of Fort Wayne, IN.; 3 daughters, Etta of Beckley, WV; Susan of Burgaw, NC and Ellen of Chapel Hill, NC.; by one step-son, Mickey of Beckly, WV ; 3 step-daughters, Gayla of Premier, WV; Angela of Highland, MI and Rebecca of Altlanta, Ga.;8 Grandchildern and 4 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
James was a veteran of the Korean War where he earned a Purple Heart from the US Army. He was a mechanic in the shops at various coal mines for over 32 years.
Among the many things James loved to do he had a number of squirrels he loved to feed. This was the highlight of his day to get outside and feed his animals. He also loved feeding the birds. And doing little things to help his neighbors.
Services for James will be at Lohman Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. James will be interred in the "Garden of Glory" at Daytona Memorial Gardens, Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Fl.
Memorial donations can be made in his name to Halifax Health- Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center, 235 Booth Rd., Ormond Beach FL 32174.
