Seventy years ago a journey began with only small town attention, when a girl with long dark curls, met a strong Navy boy with sparkling eyes.

An everlasting true love began. A love for all ages and time. A sensitive enduring love that we all, only hope and dream and wish for!

Sammie left us Friday morning August 19, 2016

She was preceded by Parents: Sam and Willie (Foster) Davis, Brothers: Gene Davis, Evan Davis, J L Davis, and Dewey Davis.

Sammie is survived by her husband of 70 years, John William Wright, 2 sons, G. Russell Wright and wife Dawn, Jeff M. Wright and wife Mary, Grandchildren Kara Wright-Cox, John Russell Wright, Zane Russell Wright, Samantha Wright and Jeffery Wright, Great-Grandchildren, Grace Marie Cox and Mary Edith Cox.

Sammie was a very active, intelligent loving lady, throughout her young years in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. She was chosen her senior year, as Miss Oliver Springs, and was a member of the Eastern Star.

Sammie met John William Wright and married him at the age of eighteen. They had two sons Russell and Jeff, and Sammie became very involved in all of their activities and sports. Later they retired to Daytona Beach Shores Florida. She and John spent many happy years enjoying the beach, warm weather and numerous friends.

Sammie will be greatly missed but forever loved.

Memorial Service will be held Friday August 23, 2016 at 5:00 PM at the Oceans 7 Condominium 2947 South Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach Shores, Florida 32118

Funeral Arrangements are under the guidance of the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange. In lieu of flowers please consider the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Shriners.
